India is building AI — fast. Startups, researchers, and enterprises across the country are training and deploying models that matter. But the compute that powers all of it is hard to compare: much of it is quote-only, government-subsidised rates sit behind a login, and every provider lists specs and prices differently. There's no neutral place to put it side by side.
That opacity has a cost. A well-funded enterprise can afford to shop around; a two-person startup in Pune often can't — so it overpays, or doesn't build at all. Information asymmetry quietly holds the ecosystem back.
We're here to change that. Maapan Bazaar is an independent, builder-first price tracker for AI and GPU compute in India — clear, sourced, regularly updated, with every figure dated and attributed and no paid placement. We only show rates providers have already published. We keep commercial, subsidised, and global-cloud prices separate, and we never editorialise for or against any provider. Just the prices, in the open.
